A powder additive for latex rubber moldmaking compound. Sets latex in 1 hour - any thickness.
Start your mold the same way if using
regular latex rubber. Give it a coat and let it set up. The second coat you
add a tablespoon of thickener to a 1/4 cup of liquid latex rubber. You can
add a little water to make it pourable or apply directly with a brush. Go
ahead and gob it on your subject. It sets within the hour and cures in 72
hours at room temperature. You can also add additional coats if needed. Additional
coats are applied the same way as regular latex. Just add additional coats
before your prior coats are dry. Use it in conjunction with regular latex
to help fill voids and shallow spots. Use one layer with thickener to fill
in the low spots, let it set and continue with regular latex just as you
would normally do. This is a great way to deal with undercuts.
Mix up some latex and thickener. Place
it aside for a minute or two. When it gets to the point of a soft ball, roll
it around in your hands. Set it aside for a day or two. Now you have a rubber
ball to play with the dog. Try doing that with regular latex and you will
have one big mess.
You can also fill cavities (not your
teeth) or molds with rubber. Mix it up and add just enough water to make
it pourable. Pour the mixture and let it set for 72 hours.
